Feeling a little overwhelmed with everything that has to fit into your outdoor storage shed? Don’t sweat it! Here’s a few simple ways to organize your outdoor shed and forget you ever had a panic attack about how disorganized it was when you started.
Freeing Up the Floor Space
One of the most inexpensive but powerful ways to free up that precious floor space in your outdoor shed is to purchase some large hooks for the walls. These can be used for anything from long extension cables to large yard tools and even rope and bungee cords.
You can even hang plastic buckets or metal pails from the hooks and organize smaller things like your hammers, screwdrivers and nails.
Magnetic Bars and Storage Bins
If you haven’t been wild about putting your tools in bins on the walls, investing in a magnetic bar or pegboard hanger might be just what you need. A magnetic strip makes placing tools away a breeze and makes it harder to lose anything the way you might in a traditional storage bin.
Get a Work Bench
If you’re the type of person that constantly has projects going, do yourself a favor and set up a workbench. This will allow you to leave your work out but in a place all by itself so it’s not in the way and nothing can get lost. Consider personalizing the wall that it sits on and making it your own little space. When you’re working, you’ll be glad you did!
Shelving, Shelving, Shelving.
Never can have enough shelves, right? Right. When you’re busy organizing, don’t forget to install some shelving up on the walls for additional things you have that might not go on a magnetic strip or in a bin. Sometimes you don’t think about those things till later, but you’ll be so glad you did!
Organizing your shed can be one of the most rewarding experiences. Especially when you’re finished and start a project in your freshly organized space. Do you have any wildly effective but simple ways to organize your outdoor shed? We’d love to hear from you!
